You can make powder in advance as the powder stays fresh for a month approx when stored in refrigerator. then you just have to assemble it with idlis. Actually posi idli is a perfect recipe to use your leftover idlis.

Idlis are nothing but a steamed lentil cakes which are staple in south indian cuisine. Well, to prepare this recipe, I have used ghee/clarified butter (which is a good fat) in tempering but this recipe goes best with sesame oil too.

  • prepare your idlis and cool it down. cut into the pieces and keep aside.
  • heat ghee in pan.
  • add idli pieces.
  • add podi powder and salt to your taste.
  • add a pinch of red chili powder.
  • mix well.
  • add water and cook for 3 mins.
  • podi idli is ready.
  • serve hot.

Notes

  • you can add cumins and mustard in tempering.
  • This is a perfect recipe to use leftover idlis.
