This recipe is very similar to bisi bele bath recipe from Karnataka cuisine.while we add the bisi bele bath masala powder in bisi bele bath recipe. however, we add just sambar powder or freshly prepared masala paste in sambar sadam recipe. moreover, you can separately cook the sambar and then mix it with rice. even this would result in an amazing sambar sadam recipe.
The consistency of sambar rice is like khichdi. You can prepare this recipe using any variety of rice and from your favorite vegetables. I used regular rice here along with fresh carrots, green peas, brinjals and tomatoes. You can use beans as well.
