Chana dal fry recipe-how to make easy chana dal
spicy bengal gram split curry recipe is one of my favorite that i have learn from my neighbor aunt.

Ingredients

cup
chana dal / bengal gram split
salt to taste

water
to boil dal
1
medium
onion
chopped

garlic
minced

tomato
chopped
½
teaspoon
ginger paste
1

green chilli

teaspoon
mustard seeds
¼
teaspoon
cumins/jeera
1
tablespoon
Oil

curry leaves
fresh coriander
chopped
a
pinch
of asafoetida / hing
Instructions
soak chana dal for 15-20 mins in water if you have plenty time.Otherwise directly transfer chana dal in pressure cooker. add water in cooker.
boil dal in pressure cooker for 3-4 whistles on medium flame. keep the boil dal aside.
heat oil in kadai.
Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds.when they crackle add asafoetida/hing.
Add curry leaves and garlic cloves. saute it for a while.
add onion, ginger, and chili. saute it for a while.
add tomato,salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder and coriander powder.Mix well.
cook the mixture for 2-3 mins OR until mixture is smooth enough.
Add boil dal and mix well.
Boil the dal for 4-5 mins on medium flame.
sprinkle some coriander and serve hot.
Notes
soak dal for 15-20 mins at-least for best results.
you can sprinkle some garam masala as well.it's your choice.i am not adding it.
