This spicy, tangy and flavorful taco is the perfect summer recipe where taco shells are 100% homemade and filling is made with exotic cajun spiced chickpeas and spicy, sweet apples.
Take a saute pan first, and transfer fresh cream into it. Add salt, cajun seasoning and yogurt. Mix it well.
Add boiled chickpeas and mix it well.
Keep it aside for 5 minutes so that chickpeas can absorb the flavors.
Now, turn ON the flame and cook the chickpeas.
Cook until the cream is mixed and the chickpea mixture looks almost dry. This will take around 7 minutes on the medium to high flame. Note- If you like somewhat saucy filling then cook the mixture for 5 minutes but I prefer the dryer version.
Filling is ready, keep aside.
to prepare spicy apple sauce
Take a sauce pan and transfer chopped apples into it.
Add, salt, sugar, red chili powder and water. Roughly mix it.
turn ON the flame.
Place the saucepan on the stove and cook the mixture.
Stir occasionally.
Your flame should be medium while making this sauce.
After 6-7 minutes, You will notice that sugar has started melting or it has melted. When using induction or electric stove, it will initially take time to heat the coil while indian stoves takes less time.
Cook until the apples are soft enough.Add little of water if you like as This mixture has to be in sauce consistency.
Sauce is ready. Keep aside.
