Ingredients
to boil dal :

pigeon pea/ toor dal

carrots,brinjals,potatoes,peas

turmeric powder

asafoetida

ginger
grated

green chilies

teaspoon
sambar powder

tsp
red chili powder

teaspoon
turmeric powder
corinader
for garnishing

tamarind pulp

teaspoon

Instructions
Add your dal into a pressure cooker. Add water.
Take a small bowl which can fit in the pressure cooker.transfer all vegetables into that bowl.
gently place the bowl into the pressure cooker.
add turmeric and red chili powder.
pressure cook the mixture for 7 mins.
heat oil in pan.
add mustard and cumin seeds. when they crakle add asafoetida.
add curry leaves.
add grated ginger and chopped onion. mix it well.
add green chilies and tomatoes. mix it well.
add boiled vegetables.
Add tamarind pulp.
add turmeric powder,red chili powder ,
sambar powder
.
Add salt to your taste.
add boiled and mashed dal. mix it well.
boil for 5-8 mins.
serve hot.
Notes
you can use any brand of sambar powder if you don't have
homemade sambar powder
. The taste of sambar greatly depends on the quality of sambar.
if you are preparing in large quantity, cook vegetables and dal separately.
