Below are the ingredients required to make hummus.
Canned chickpeas - Canned chickpeas are a quick and handy option. If you don't prefer canned chickpeas then soak chickpeas overnight, boil them, and then use them.
Garlic and cumin - give that pungent flavor.
Salt and lemon juice - to taste.
Olive oil -extra virgin olive oil is used to make the best hummus.
Tahini - homemade tahini or store-bought, Tahini plays an important role to make the best hummus.
How to make hummus?
Preparing ingredients - drain off your chickpeas and rinse them well. It is really an important step to make the best of the best hummus from canned chickpeas.
In a food processor, add garlic, cumin, salt, lemon juice, tahini, and chickpeas. Also, add half of the olive oil and churn.
Churn them to a smooth paste. Transfer it to a serving bowl and add the remaining olive oil on top.
Enjoy with falafel.

Better than store bought hummus
Ingredients
- ½ cup Canned chickpeas, boiled or canned
- 1 tablespoon tahini paste
- salt to taste
- 2 garlic cloves
- ½ teaspoon cumin
- 1 tablespoon Cilantro
- ¼ teaspoon cumin
- ½ cup olive oil, for topping
- chili flakes, optional
Instructions
- Take a food processor first.
- Meanwhile, drain you canned chickpeas and wash them off.
- add garlic cloves into food processor, cumin, tahini,salt,lemon juice.
- Add chickpeas.
- crush to a smooth paste.
- transfer to a serving bowl.
- add some olive oil on the top.
- sprinkle some chili flakes.
- serve with falafel and pita bread.
