Soaking and Sprouting Guide

A sprouting and Soaking guide can be a very helpful resource for those of you just learning how to grow sprouts
at home or you are making recipes using beans. This is a listing of specific seed varieties.
Final quantity i mentioned here after process are based on

 1/2 cup(lentils/beans) taken for soaking = quantity I will get. 

I also mentioned Sprouting time here for the beans and lentils i have used for the recipes so far.

  1. Chickpea(Brown)/Kala Chana:
    • Soaking Time : 6-7 hours
    • Sprouting Time : 1 to 1.5 days
    • Final Quantity you will get : 1 cup
  2. Mung Bean :
      • Soaking Time : 5-6 hours
      • Sprouting Time : 8 to 10 hours
      • Final Quantity you will get : 1 cup
    1. Rajma / Red Kidney Beans:
        • Soaking Time : 8-10 hours
        • Final Quantity you will get : 1 cup
      1. Moth / Matki :
          • Soaking Time : 5-6 hours
          • Sprouting Time : 8-9 hours
          • Final Quantity you will get : 1 cup    
        1. Sago Balls / Sabudana :
            • Soaking Time : 4-5 hours
            • Final Quantity you will get : 1 cup
          1. Urad Dal  / Split Gram white :
              • Soaking Time- 4-5 hours
              • Final Quantity You will get : 1 cup + 3-4 tbsp  
            1. White dried peas:
                • Soaking Time : 8-9 hours
                • Sprouting Time : 2 – 2.5 days
                • Final Quantity you will get : 1 cup
              1. Chickpea(White)/Kabuli Chana:
                  • Soaking Time : 6-7 hours
                  • Final Quantity you will get : 1 cup 

                1. Black gram whole / kali saboot urad dal:
                2. Soaking time :- over night
                3. Final Quantity you will get : 1.5 cups to 2 cups
