restaurant style tomato soup with step by step photos -Tomato soup is very popular recipe in all indian restaurants. I am not a big fan of soups but yeah i can have simple tomato soup any time. I had tomato soup at many place but i Love my mommy's simple tomato soup a lot😍 .



While preparing content for a blog, i always focus on my mommy's recipes first😁 and this recipe came in my mind.
Some restaurant makes really good soups and i love little bit thick.The taste of the soup has been vary from sour to sweet.  Some of makes this tomato soup very thin just like tomato rasam but i like to have it little bit thick.
As i have told, i am following my mommy's method here. I don't like onions in this tomato soup. please do not avoid garlic because it works as the main ingredient.

I am also using corn flour slurry to give thickness to the soup. hope you will like the recipe.

Key notes while preparing soup,
  • always use fresh tomatoes.
  • I am not using onions in this soup but you can use it if you like
  • Always blanch tomatoes as i am following my momy's method.
  • Do not use cream. 
  • Use fresh mint leaves to enhance the taste of the soup.

Recipe Details for making restaurant style tomato soup below:

Cook Time :10 min
Total Time :20 min
Main Ingredient :tomato
Serves :2
Cuisine : world

Ingredients:
  • fresh tomatoes , large - 3 nos OR 4 medium
  • Salt to taste
  • garlic cloves , chopped - 5 nos
  • bay leaf - 1
  • oil - 1/2 tsp
  • clove - 3 nos
  • black peppercorn ,freshly crushed - 4 nos
  • red chili powder - a pinch [optional]
  • sugar - 1/4 tsp
  • fresh mint leaves - 4 nos [optional]
Ingredients for cornflour slurry: 
  • corn flour - 1 tsp
  • water - 2 tbsp
Method/Assembling:
  1. Prepare cornflour slurry first. Mix water and cornflour well and keep it aside.
  2. Boil water in large vessel.
  3. Add tomatoes and bring them to boil for 8-10 mins on high flame.
  4. Remove skin of tomatoes and make a fine puree of tomatoes.
  5. now,Heat oil in pan.
  6. Add cloves and bay leaf.
  7. Add garlic and saute it for a while.
  8. Add tomato puree.
  9. Add salt,red chili powder,sugar and black pepper powder.
  10. Add corn flour slurry,mint leaves and bring the soup to boil for 5 to 7 min.
  11. Serve hot.

  1. LOVE tomato soup, and this one is making me so hungry. Can I have a GIANT bowl of this delicious comfort. Feeling hungry. I also like a thick tomato soup. I don't why I haven't added chili powder to my tomato soup, but that needs to change. Would try this soon. :)
