Milk peda or Doodh ke peda recipe is a quick peda recipe made in microwave.Peda is very popular indian sweet recipe mostly made with Khoya or evaporated milk. I am sharing one of the Easiest peda method which is super quick and requires very handy ingredients. You don't need to buy any special materials for this recipe.


When it comes to Indian sweets , Mava peda is probably my first choice. I Just Love the simplicity of the peras.I first saw this recipe on one of my fellow blogger's time- shibani and i also told her that i am going to do this. It was one of quickest decision after watching the photos i have made which rarely happens with me. ;)
Janmashtami is coming shortly.Countdown is started actually so i am quite excited about this Milk peda recipe. I will repeat this recipe on janmshtami as a "Bhog" along with  my homemade butter. I will do puja of lord krishna and then celebrate the event.

This recipe is very simple. Apart from condensed milk, Milk powder and Butter/Ghee is also added. You can use either Ghee OR salted butter. I have used Salted butter here.

This recipe needs some extra care because we use milk powder here which is slightly tricky to handle.
You can use dry-fruits as well but i like my pedas simple without nuts so i am avoiding it.

Prep Time :2 min
Cook Time : 3 min
Total Time : 5 min
Main Ingredient :Milk powder
Serves :10 medium size peda
Cuisine :Mathura , Indian

Ingredients:
  • Milk powder - 1 cup
  • Condensed Milk - 2 tbsp
  • Saffron threads - 5-6 
  • Milk - 1 tsp
  • Cardamom Powder - a pinch
  • Salted Butter - 1+1/2 tbsp , melted
  • Butter or Ghee - for greasing hands 
Method/Assembling: 
  1. First melt your butter in microwave.Do not boil it just put your bowl in microwave for 20 sec.
  2. Now, add condensed milk in melted butter and whisk little bit the mixture.
  3. Add Milk powder in mixture and mix well.
  4. Put this bowl in microwave for 1 minute on high power.
  5. Add Milk into the mixture and mix well.After that Add saffron and cardamom powder.
  6. Again put your bowl in microwave for 1 minute.
  7. Your will see the mixture is started boiling and bubbling. Mix once using spatula.
  8. Let the mixture cool down for 5 minutes so that you can handle it.
  9. Grease your hands.
  10. Knead the mixture like a dough.
  11. Divide mixture in a small balls and give pera shape to the balls. OR just directly make the pera balls without kneading.
  12. Garnish and Serve.
    Note:
    • Instead of adding saffron direct, you can soak saffron in milk( see the measurements) .After soaking just add that 1 tsp saffron milk instead of plain milk.
    • Kneading the mixture will help you Handle you pera mixture in easier way however it is totally optional.
