Today i am sharing One of the very famous Recipe from the land of 'Garv Gujarat'. Gujarati Food is mainly divide in three region - North Gujarati Food, South gujarati Food and Kathiawari Food.Kathiyawadi food is famous for its 'Chatpatta Taste'. You may heard sometimes Bajra no Rotlo,Ringna no Orro and Sev tameta nu Shak  in Serial 'Tarak Mehta Ka ulta Chasma '. This is pure kathiyawadi food.You can not imagine Kathiyawad Without these Three Dishes.
The recipe I am sharing today is Dhaba Style Sev tamatar Subji. When Chickpea flour Vermicelli cooked with Tomato, onion and Garlic, It will make the perfect recipe which is tasty enough to make you hungry again and again.
When this recipe cooked in a gujarati homes,Onions and Garlic may be avoided.
In dhaba style, It is tempered with few whole spices, garlic and onion.
I am sharing Dhaba Style Version. I will share Jain version of this recipe very soon. Till Then You can enjoy this Easy recipe.

Recipe Details below:

Sev Tameta nu Shak

Prep Time : 5 min
Cook Time : 10 min
Total Time : 15 min
Main Ingredient : Sev , Tomato
Serves : 3-4
Cuisine : Gujarat , Kathiyawar

Ingredients :
  • Besan Sev - 1 cup
  • Tomato , Finely Chopped - 2 medium piece
  • Onion,Chopped - 1 small size
  • Garlic Paste - 2 tsp
  • Cinnamon Stick - 1/2 inch
  • Whole Black Pepper - 5 nos
  • Bay leaf - 1 small size 
  • Salt - to taste
  • Red chili powder - 1 tsp
  • turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • Oil - 3 tbsp - 4 tbsp
  • Fresh Coriander - for garnishing
  • Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  • Water - 1/2 cup to 1 cup
Method / Assembling:
  1. Heat oil in pan. Add mustard Seeds and Cumin seeds.
  2. When They Crackle ,Add  cinnamon stick,Black Pepper and bay leaf.
  3. Add Onions and Garlic Paste and saute it for a while.
  4. Add chopped tomatoes and saute it for a while.
  5. Add Salt,Turmeric Powder,Red chili powder and mix them well.
  6. Add 1/2 Cup water and boil them well.
  7. Turn off the flame and add Besan Sev immediately.
  8. Garnish with Coriander.
  9. Serve hot.
  • Always Add Besan Sev after turning off the Flame because It is already Cooked and Requires 0 time to mix with gravy.
  • Be carefull While adding Salt because Besan Sev itself is salty.
