Recipe : Roasted Onion and Tomato Sauce Pasta

I put all my guts while making any Pasta recipe. This is quite Different from my style of cooking as i have to do some research before making recipe which is not belong to india.I guess this is the issue which not only me but most of the us have ever face..
But I am not saying that any continental recipes are difficult to implement but the thing is they just different from our style cooking.
Ingredients are Different but now a days we can easily get from grocery store.
This is my very first Non- Indian Recipe post.Del monte serves the best product. I love their pineapple slices.They are so fresh so i decided to use Delmonte Penne Pasta.I Also use Roasted Onion here and tomato. Roasted Onion gives unique burnt flavor in this pasta which helps to enhance the flavors with tomato sauce.

Recipe Details below:

Roasted Onion and Tomato Sauce Pasta

Prep Time : 20 min
Cook Time : 20 min
Total Time : 40 min
Main Ingredient : Penne Pasta
Serves : 2
Cuisine :Italian
  • Del monte Penne Pasta - 2 cups
  • Water - to boil pasta (3 Cups approx)
  • Olive Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • Onion - 1 big size
  • Tomato - 2 medium size
  • Garlic ,chopped - 8-10 cloves
  • Chilli flakes - as per your taste
  • black papper powder - 1 tsp OR as per your taste
  • Parmesan Cheese - i use 1 tbsp, you can use as per your likes
  • Mix herbs -  a pinch (Optional)
Method / Assembling:
  1. First Boil water. Add Salt and 1 tsp oil in water.
  2. Add Pasta into boiling water. boil them for 10 min on medium flame.Drain Pasta and wash with cold water . Keep it Aside.
  3. Now Roast Onion (whole ) on direct Flame and make a fine puree. Also prepare Tomato Puree.
  4. Heat Oil In pan.
  5. Add Garlic and Saute it.
  6. Add Onion Puree and cook for 2 min.
  7. Add Tomato Puree and mix them Well.
  8. Add Salt, Chilli Flakes , Mix herbs and Black Pepper Powder.
  9. Mix them well . 
  10. Cook this saucefor 5 - 10 min.
  11. Add boiled Pasta and Mix them well.
  12. At last add cheese.
  13. Garnish them well.
  14. Serve Hot.
  • You can definitely use other pasta varieties but i like Penne the most.
  • I used Olive Oil, You can use Any other oils as per your liking.
