Moth is a rich source of protein.We can consume by making sprouts of them.Moth are also known as matki.You can make their chat subjies as well but kids usually doesn't like healthy food. And sometimes we are also get bored with these ordinary dishes. I made This rice recipe Just to make something new with mothDal and also i want something light in my dinner.
One pot meals as it name suggest are the meals with enough nutrition.They are lees oily and also required less time.They are very light and sufficient enough. This is the MOST comfort food.
Moth Pulao is a combination of Mothdal sprouts,Green Peas. I also give some twist by adding baby potatoes which are first roasted in gravy.
There is no extra ordinary Ingredient i have used here because i want to make it very simple.I used All routine Indian Spices with onions ,tomatoes and ginger garlic paste to make a fine gravy.And then I roast baby potatoes, Rice , Peas and moth dal very well and pressure cook them for 10 mins.
I am using Frozen Matar here.I have shared tutorial for preserving Matar at home in can refer that tutorial. for the Recipe,

Recipe Details below:

Peas And Moth Pulao

Prep Time : 10 mins
Cook Time : 10 mins
Total Time : 20 mins
Main Ingredient : Green Peas , Matki|Moth
Serves : 2
Cuisine : Indian

Ingredients :

  • Moth Dal - 1/2 cup
  • Green Peas - 1/2 cup
  • Rice - 1 cup
  • Onion, chopped - 1 medium size
  • Tomato,chopped- 1 small size
  • Ginger Garlic paste - 1 tsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • Garam Masala - 1 pinch
  • Oil  - 1 tbsp
  • Baby Potatoes - 4-5 nos
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder - 1 pinch
Method / Assembling:

  1. Wash Baby potatoes, Moth , Peas and rice very well.
  2. Heat Oil in pan.
  3. Add Cumin seeds.When Seeds Crackle add onions and Ginger garlic paste.
  4. Saute it very well.
  5. Add Turmeric Powder,Garam masala And Salt .
  6. Add tomato and again saute them very well.
  7. Add Baby potatoes,Moth and Peas, mix them well.
  8. Add 2 Cup Water and pressure cook them for 10 mins on medium flame.
  9. Serve Hot.

  • I am Using Readymade Moth sprout here.You can make them at home.For that,You have to soak Moth for 2 hours and rinse well.Then  Cover them with Cotton cloth and keep it aside for atleast 4-5 hours.
  • I am using frozen matar here.
