Hello Foodies,
I am a big big fan of Peda. I love it very much.Peda is traditional indian sweet recipe prepared in thick,semi-soft piece.The main ingredients are cardamom,Khoa and saffron.The colour varies from creamy white to a caramel colour.
It is said that the origin of the peda is Uttar Pradesh (state of india).The different Variety from the city Mathura considered as best.
So my today's post is - Mathura Peda recipe .i found this recipe on rachna's kitchen.
And  yaa i am changing my post look from this post to make it more readable .i hope you will like this.

Recipe Details Below:

Mathura Peda/Mava Pera 

Prep Time :20-25 mins
Cook Time :20-25 mins
Total Time :35-40 mins
Main Ingredient : Khoa OR Mava
Serves : you can make at least 10 pieces from this measurement
Cuisine : Utter Pradesh,Mathura
  • Khoa/Khoya/Mawa - 500gm
  • Ghee /Clarified butter- 1-2 tbsp
  • Cardamom ,peeled and grounded - 8-10 OR Cardamom powder - 1 tbsp

Method / Assembling:
  1. Take a heavy pan(Kadhai) and add ghee. fry Mawa  in it. Stir Mawa continuously while frying, not letting it stick at the bottom of the pan.Stir and fry till Mawa's color turn brown completely.
  2. Allow Mawa to cool off, when its cooled mix cardamom powder and blend properly.Be sure your mixture should not be completly cooled otherwise you wont able to form peda.
  3. You will find that mixture has formed into dough. 
  4. Now divide Mixture into a equal portion. give them any shape you like, you can also coat them in sugar powder(optional).
    Let them air dry for 1 to 2 hours to become hard.
  5. Peda is ready to serve.

  • When you prepare Mathura Peda remember to fry/roast Mawa as much possible. The more Mawa is fried/roasted the more its shelf life increases.
  • You can get Khoa from any indian dairy store.
